What is a WILD - the Wake Induced Lucid Dreaming Technique?

As you may know, lucid dreaming can take some practice to get good at. Luckily, people have come up with  a variety of methods for inducing lucid dreams. One of the most popular is known as a WILD, or Wake Induced Lucid Dream, which is nearly the opposite of a DILD (hehe), or Dream Induced Lucid Dream. A WILD is when you go from being awake directly into a lucid dream, whereas a DILD is when you are already dreaming and suddenly recognize that you are in a dream and begin to exercise control over the dreamscape.

How do you have a WILD (Wake Induced Lucid Dream)?

The best part of using the WILD method for lucid dreaming is that it is surprising easy to do. Lucid dream experts typically recommend having a WILD by waking up after 4-5 hours of sleep, getting out of bed for a few minutes to fully wake yourself up, and then going back to bed. As you are laying in bed, begin to imagine the thing that you want to dream about. Frequently remind yourself that you are dreaming and that you can control what you dream about ( See WBTB, or Wake Back To Bed). You will slowly slip into sleep as you are doing this and, if you do it right, you will retain the ability to control the dreamscape.

Tips for having a WILD (Wake Induced Lucid Dream)

1. Plan out what it is that you want to dream about ahead of time. Think about it during the day to become familiar with it. This will make it easier to retain control and consciousness as you enter your dream.

2. Give yourself a goal to accomplish once you have entered into your dream. When you are starting out, make it something easy, like saying a certain phrase or clapping your hands to the beat of a song. This will help you start exercising control over the dreamscape.

3. Take a serotonin-boosting supplement before you go to bed and an ACh-boosting supplement and choline upon waking up in the middle of the night before attempting to enter into a WILD. Dream Leaf is an  advanced lucid dreaming supplement that comes with all the necessary nutrients to maximize the WILD experience. See How Dream Leaf works.

4. Don't give up if it doesn't happen the first time. Although this is one of the easiest ways to have a lucid dream, it won't always happen the first time, especially if you are not using any type of dietary supplement to assist in the process.
