Why Don’t I Dream?

The answer I’m about to give might surprise you. The reason you don’t dream is because you actually have... severe brain damage. Just kidding! It’s totally normal for people to not remember their dreams. But the good news is that anybody can start remembering their dreams. In fact, it’s likely you can even learn how to control your dreams. For more info, visit this other article I put together.

When somebody asks, “Why don’t I dream?” it’s important to keep in mind that everyone dreams at night, it’s just that some of us don’t remember our dreams that well in the morning. This can be the case for several different reasons, which I will explain later.

Anyway, for those who are wondering, “why don’t I dream?” Here are a few things that will help you remember your dreams at night. In fact, these are some things that you can start doing today, which will help improve your dream recall, dream vividness, and even increase the level of consciousness you experience in your dreams.

4 things that will help you to remember your dreams:

1 – EAT A BANANA. It’s important to keep in mind that your diet actually has a direct correlation to your dream experiences. And bananas feed your brain the right nutrients in order to remember your dreams vividly. Bananas make your dreams very vivid and easy to remember in the morning.

2 – READ BEFORE YOU GO TO BED. A big chunk of the reason why we often forget our dreams is because we are so easily distracted while we are dreaming, which makes your dreams much more difficult to recollect when you wake up. If you are not exercising your ability to focus throughout the day, it’s likely that you will struggle with remembering your dreams too, and the reason this happens is because it causes your dreams to be too light for your memory to pick up on in the morning.

3 – TRY TO REMEMBER YOUR DREAMS IMMEDIATELY WHEN YOU WAKE UP. Everyone dreams at night, right? Did you know that the average person forgets about 90% of their dreams within 5 minutes of waking up. If you capitalize on those first few minutes of being awake, you can often times remember your dreams pretty well.

4 – DREAM JOURNALING. Hands down, this is one of the best ways to improve your ability to remember your dreams. By writing your dreams down you exercise a deeper dream recollection ability than by simply thinking back on them. Dream Journaling has helped countless people to recall their dreams vividly in the morning, myself included. (Check out our Dream Atlas Dream Journal!)

Lastly, if you really want to take your dreams to a new level, we highly recommend trying Dream Leaf. This is intended for lucid dreamers, but it has several ingredients inside that can help you to recall your dreams in greater detail. For more information, just visit Dream Leaf.
